Dì-Èr Diàn Chǔ Jiāng Wáng 第二殿 楚江王 |
| His Infernal Majesty Chǔ Jiāng reigns at the bottom of the great Ocean. |
楚江王主掌大海之底，
Chǔ Jiāng wáng zhǔzhǎng dàhǎi zhī dǐ, 楚江王主掌大海之底， |
| Away to the south, below the Wòjiāo rocks, he has a vast hell, |
正南方沃燋石下的活大地狱。
zhèngnán fāng Wòjiāoshí xiàde huó dà dìyù. 正南方沃燋石下的活大地獄。 |
| eight thousand miles wide, it is subdivided into sixteen dungeons, as follows: |
此地狱从横八千里（五百由旬）；另设十六小地狱：

| 3. The Dungeon of Five-Pronged Forks. |
三名五叉小地狱；
Sān Míng Wǔ Chā Xiǎo Dìyù; 三名五叉小地獄； |
| 4. The Dungeon of Gnawing Hunger. |
四名讥饿小地狱；
Sì Míng Jī È Xiǎo Dìyù; 四名譏餓小地獄； |
| 5. The Dungeon of Burning Thirst. |

| These punishments apply to criminals who, while living, |
如在阳世曾犯以下罪恶：

| 1. abduct little boys or girls (to sell them or apprentice them to monasteries); |
拐骗少年男女；
guǎipiàn shàonián nánnǚ; 拐騙少年男女； |
| 2. or who filch wealth entrusted to them; |
欺占他人财物；
qī zhàn tārén cáiwù; 欺占他人財物； |
| 3. or who injure another person's ears or eyes, hands, or feet; |
损坏人的耳目，手脚；
sǔnhuài rén de ěrmù, shǒujiǎo; 損壞人的耳目，手腳； |
| 4. or who practice medicine without any knowledge of the medical arts in order to gain immoral benefits; |
介绍疗效不明的医生、药物来谋取不道德的利益；
jièshào liáoxiào bùmíng de yīshēng, yàowù lái móuqǔ bùdàodé de lìyì; 介紹療效不明的醫生、藥物來謀取不道德的利益； |
| 5. or who own slave girls but do not allow them to be ransomed when they come of age; |
役使的婢女，已经壮年，却不让家人赎回，恢复自由之身；
yìshǐ de bìnǚ, yǐjing zhuàngnián, què bùràng jiārén shúhuí, huīfù zìyóu zhī shēn; 役使的婢女，已經壯年，卻不讓家人贖回，恢復自由之身； |
| 6. or who arrange marriages for the sake of financial gain, concealing the ages of the parties |
在议结婚姻之时，为了贪图对方的财富、地位、故意隐瞒自己的年龄，以诈骗婚姻；
zài yì jiéhūn yīn zhī shí, wèile tāntú duìfāng de cáifù, dìwèi, gùyì yǐnmán zìjǐ de niánlíng, yǐ zhàpiàn hūnyīn; 在議結婚姻之時，爲了貪圖對方的財富、地位、故意隱瞞自己的年齡，以詐騙婚姻； |
| 7. before a marriage has been contracted, already knowing that the bride or groom has contracted a malignant or serious disease, |
在二家尚未合婚确定之前，已确知男方或女方，实在是染有恶疾，重病，
zài èr jiā shàngwèi héhūn quèdìng zhī qián, yǐ quèzhī nánfāng huò nǚfāng, shízài shì rǎn yǒu èjí, zhòngbìng, 在二家尚未合婚確定之前，已確知男方或女方，實在是染有惡疾，重病， |
| or is treacherous or thieving, or is a person of inferior moral quality, |
或是奸邪、窃盗，品德低劣之人；
huòshi jiānxié, qièdào, pǐndé dīliè zhī rén; 或是姦邪、竊盜，品德低劣之人； |
| but who, greedy for the matchmaker's fee, unconscionably |
为了赚取介绍费，不惜昧着良心，含含糊糊地掩饰过去，
wèile zhuànqǔ jièshào fèi, bùxī mèizhe liángxīn, hánhan hūhū dì yǎnshì guòqù, 為了賺取介紹費，不惜昧著良心，含含糊糊地掩飾過去， |
| do not come forward to reveal this, and thereby destroy the happiness of a whole generation. |
不将实情相告，以致误人一辈子的幸福。
bùjiāng shíqíng xiānggào, yǐzhì wùrén yībèizi de xìngfú. 不將實情相告，以致誤人一輩子的幸福。 |
| For such offenses, a careful investigation is made of how much has been done, over how long a period, |
以上的罪恶的事迹，一一地考察所犯事件的多少，时间的长久，
yǐshàng de zuì'è de shìjì, yīyī dì kǎochá suǒ fànshì jiàn de duōshao, shíjiān de chángjiǔ, 以上的罪惡的事跡，一一地考察所犯事件的多少，時間的長久， |
| and whether harm has resulted, and whether it has become serious, to provide the basis for a penalty. |
有没有造成祸害，或变生严重的事端，以为刑罚的依据。
yǒuméiyǒu zàochéng huòhai, huò biàn shēng yánzhòng de shìduān, yǐwéi xíngfá de yījù. 有沒有造成禍害，或變生嚴重的事端，以為刑罰的依據。 |
| After that, they will be seized by horrid red-faced devils and thrust into the great hell, |
如有，即命令狰、赤发等鬼，推入大地狱受苦。
Rú yǒu, jí mìnglìng zhēng, chì fā děng guǐ, tuī rù dàdì yù shòukǔ. 如有，即命令猙、赤髪等鬼，推入大地獄受苦。 |
| and thence despatched to the particular dungeon in which they are to be tormented. |
另外，也有应其罪恶之大小，发放到小地狱受苦的。
lìngwài, yě yǒu yìng qí zuì'è zhī dà xiǎo, fāfàng dào xiǎo dìyù shòukǔ de. 另外，也有應其罪惡之大小，發放到小地獄受苦的。 |
| When their time of suffering there has expired, they will be moved into the Third Court, there to be tortured and passed on to that court's great hell for torture. . |
以上受刑期满，再转解到第三殿，加重刑并发入此殿之地狱去受苦。
Yǐshàng shòuxíng qīmǎn, zài zhuǎnjiè dào dì sān diàn, jiāzhòng xíng bìngfā rù cǐ diàn zhī dìyù qù shòukǔ. 以上受刑期滿，再轉解到第三殿，加重刑並發入此殿之地獄去受苦。 |
| O you good men and women still in the human world, |
世上的善男、善女，如有以下善行：
shìshang de shàn nán, shàn nǚ, rú yǒu yǐxià shànxíng: 世上的善男、善女，如有以下善行： |
| 1. If you use the Jade Guidebook to warn all sinners, |
常将玉历中的内容，解说给人知道，使他知所警惕；
cháng jiāng yù lì zhòngdì nèiróng, jiěshuō gěi rén zhīdào, shǐ tā zhī suǒ jǐngtì; 常將玉曆中的內容，解說給人知道，使他知所警惕； |
| 2. or if you copy out the Jade Guidebook and circulate its warnings, or |
或将玉历印赠流传；
huò jiāng yù lì yìn zèng liúchuán; 或將玉曆印贈流傳； |
| 3. if you see people sick and ill, give medicine to heal them, |
看到人生病，即为请医生治疗，或好药相赠，期其早日康复；
kàndào rénshēng bìng, jíwéi qǐng yīshēng zhìliáo, huò hǎo yào xiāngzèng, qī qí zǎorì kāngfù; 看到人生病，即爲請醫生治療，或好藥相贈，期其早日康復； |
| 4. If you see people poor and hungry and feed them. |
遇贫穷、苦难的人，就炊煮粥饭供食，
yù pínqióng, kǔnàn de rén, jiù chuī zhǔ zhōu fàn gōng shí, 遇貧窮、苦難的人，就炊煮粥飯供食， |
| or see people in difficulties and give money to save them. |
或布施金钱，已救济多人的；
huò bùshī jīnqián, yǐ jiùjì duō rén de; 或佈施金錢，已救濟多人的； |
| then if you also repent your past errors, you will be allowed to cancel your shortcomings by good works. |
以上善行之人，若能同时悔改前非，则特恩准他将功抵过。
yǐshàng shànxíng zhī rén, ruò néng tóngshí huǐgǎi qiánfēi, zé tè ēnzhǔn tā jiāng gōng dǐ guò. 以上善行之人，若能同时悔改前非，则特恩准他将功抵过。 |
| (For those others, who cannot balance bad deeds with good ones, there can be no discussion of leniency.) |
其余未能相抵的罪，则宽予勿论。
Qíyú wèi néng xiāngdǐ de zuì, zé kuān yú wùlùn. 其餘未能相抵的罪，則寬予勿論。 |
| When the hour arrives you will pass at once into the Tenth Court, |
在勾到之日，就交给第十殿，
Zài gōu dào zhī rì, jiù jiāogěi dì shí diàn, 在勾到之日，就交給第十殿， |
| and thence return again to existence on earth. |
发放投生珍贵的人道。
fāfàng tóushēng zhēnguì de réndào. 發放投生珍貴的人道。 |
| Let such as love all creatures endowed with life, and do not recklessly cut and slay, |
如能爱惜众生，不妄杀生灵；
Rúnéng àixī zhòngshēng, bù wàng shāshēng líng; 如能愛惜衆生，不妄殺生靈； |
| but teach their children not to harm small animals and insects, let these, |
训示、劝导儿童，不要伤害昆虫；
xùnshì, quàndǎo értóng, bùyào shānghài kūnchóng; 訓示、勸導兒童，不要傷害昆蟲； |
| on the 1st day of the 3rd moon, register an oath not to take life, but to aid in preserving it. |
于三月初一日这一天，立誓、发愿戒杀，放生的。
yú sān yuè chū yī rì zhè yī tiān, lìshì, fāyuàn jièshā, fàngshēng de. 於三月初一日這一天，立誓、發願戒殺，放生的。 |
| Those who behave well in this way, when their end comes will avoid passing through the hells, and will enter at once the Tenth Hall, |
以上善行之人，命终之时，不用入所有的地狱，立即交给第十殿，
Yǐshàng shànxíng zhī rén, mìng zhōng zhī shí, bùyòng rù suǒyǒu de dìyù, lìjí jiāogěi dì shí diàn, 以上善行之人，命終之時，不用入所有的地獄，立即交給第十殿， |
| to be born again in some happy state. |
发放入生福报深厚的地方。
fāfàng rù shēng fú bào shēnhòu de dìfang. 發放入生福報深厚的地方。 |
