Dear Margaret,

No fireworks this Independence Day. The radio played American tunes all day, but that was the only evidence of a holiday. This evening, however, we had sandwiches, beer, and the remainder of the pretzels. Later we played poker, and I had my usual good luck. Sometimes I think I must be in the wrong business.

Much love,

Herb
