Dear Margaret,

I visited a neighboring hospital today. We drove over a tall mountain on a winding one-way road astride a precipice with a breath-taking view from the summit of the wooded valley below and the torturous streams and roads. On the way we saw our friends the Kookaburra birds sitting like wise old owls atop telegraph poles and some ibis, a queer bird with a long, curved beak. On the return trip we stopped at a show place in the jungle where there are hundred of varieties of palm trees and ferns and collections of coral, mica, and fossilized ferns and trees. We also had a good look at the ocean from the other side of the mountain.

Much love,

Herb
