Dear Margaret,

The officers got together and bought a high-powered, short-wave radio. My own has served nobly but can only get a small local station. The further away we get from civilization, the fainter the station becomes. With this new set, we get the U.S. direct, the southern stations, the Asiatic low-wave lengths. It has proven to be a source of much amusement. Now we get Hope, Benny, Fred Allen, etc. regularly. I am sending my radio back together with the books I mentioned previously.

Much love,

Herb
