Thad Kousser is a professor of political science and department chair at the University of California, San Diego. His research interests include state politics, legislatures and legislative elections, and California politics. He is co-editor ofLegislative Studies Quarterly, and served as co-editor for State Politics and Policy Quarterly from 2008 - 2011. From February-July 2015, Kousser served as the 2015 Fulbright Flinders University Distinguished Chair in American Political Science in Adelaide, Australia. He is a recipient of the UCSD Academic Senate's Distinguished Teaching Award, the Faculty Mentor of the Year Award, and competed on the faculty team in the UCSD Alumni Surf Contest.
