Dr. Sanford Schane is a Research Professor of Linguistics at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD). He does research and teaches a course in the area of law and language. He has served as an expert witness and as a consultant to attorneys for such diverse language-related issues as: -- contract interpretation -- textual ambiguity -- wills and trusts -- defamation -- author identification. He is a member of: -- Linguistic Society of America (LSA) -- International Association of Forensic Linguists (IAFL) -- Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA), San Diego chapter.
