NEW DOCENT TRAINING
Friday November 20-21
La Jolla Friends of the Seals welcomes new volunteers to participate in our Docent training program. This training is an opportunity for members of the community to learn about Marine Mammals, the natural history of our area and the unique La Jolla Harbor seal colony. The comprehensive training will given by Marine educator Leslie Grella from the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association. It will take place on Saturday November 20th, 9am to 4pm and Sunday November 21, 10am to 3pm in Room 1 at the La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect Ave. and the corner of Prospect and Draper Avenues in downtown La Jolla. Here is a chance for everyone to be active in helping to protect the environment and the seals by educating and inspiring the thousands of visitors from all over the world and San Diego who come to Seal Beach every month. People already know that the Docents in the turquoise t-shirts are San Diego's ambassadors to the seals who gladly share their knowledge and inspiration with anyone interested.
