Dear Margaret,

Did you ever see a rain come up about ten miles away. At one end of our valley are twin mountain peaks, and there we will see a fine mist which is rain gradually coming toward us. Occasionally you can see it veer off to one side. Low-lying rain clouds will blanket out the one range while overhead is a clear blue. Or more characteristically, all of a sudden we are in it for about thirty minutes. It's a funny feeling watching weather being made. Our meals are now considerably improved. We are getting an abundance of milk, eggs, bacon and tomatoes.

Much love,

Herb
