May 1, 1944 Dear Margaret, Last night we heard an especially good "Command Performance" with Fred Allen, Ginny Simms, Benny Goodman, the Golden Gate Quartet and Lauritz Milchoir. Milchoir stole the show with first-class imitations of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. I guess we are the best-entertained Army that ever fought a war. Much love, Herb |
