Information Structure and Anaphora

"I'll present some preliminary results showing effects of focus structure on the interpretation of various forms of event anaphora. If there's extra time, I'll ask the group for feedback on some designs in progress.

The scope of indefinites and experimental semantics
"I will present some classic data concerning the "exceptional" scope taking
properties of singular indefinites, along with the relevant analyses that
have been proposed. I will then present some ideas for using experimental
approaches to gain insight into a proper theoretical treatment of
indefinites, hoping to get feedback on data, methodology, etc."

6/2 What about babbling together about scalar implicatures and the recent proposal by Chierchia et al. that they are calculated locally and that we should look at the semantics/pragmatics interface in a different way?
