About me
I am a sixth-year PhD candidate in the Linguistics program at the University of California, San Diego. My primary interests relate to semantics, discourse coherence, and machine learning for natural language processing tasks. But I have also been known to dabble in documentary fieldwork. My adviser at UCSD is Andy Kehler.
I grew up in London, and earned my Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Bristol. After working as an actuary in New York City for a few years, I opted out of corporate life and moved to Northern California where I pursued a Masters degree in Linguistics at San Francisco State. And now here I am in Southern California, struggling to come to terms with the consistently sunny and dry San Diego weather.
