Food Offerings are made on many family and community ritual occasions, sometimes within the central hall of a house, sometimes in the courtyard in front. Here baskets of food have been brought by separate families. Each family unit is represented minimally by its rice pot (right), whatever other dishes are brought. In these pictures the host family's offerings are on the table; their pot of rice stands on the stool beside the table. The door leads into the mainroom of the house, and the family altar.
