Omo M12

Omo M12 is a large residential site associated with Omo style pottery. The site consists of three residential sectors designated as the west, north, and south communities, that cover a total of 16.25 hectares. Cleared house platforms visible in air photos and on the surface define a total of 133 domestic units (consisting of 369 rooms) arrayed around three large community plazas. Buildings were of perishable materials suspended from thin posts.

Mapping, surface collections and excavation of sample structures conducted in 1986 and 1987 indicate a dense domestic occupation of altiplano Tiwanaku settlers.
